The Colorado SBDC Network’s flagship strategic planning series, LEADING EDGE, delivers comprehensive training to small businesses by providing entrepreneurs with a better understanding of starting and operating a small business. The program has courses geared to help both start-up and existing businesses in the areas of finance, marketing, management and more.
The program is offered statewide and over 3,000 businesses have participated in this intensive, specialized training series since the program’s inception in 1989. The San Luis Valley SBDC LEADING EDGE series meets once a week over 10 weeks. The network also offers an online version of the training.
San Luis Valley SBDC LEADING EDGE features the national GUIDED Business Plan™ curricula. This course gives direction on each section of your business plan and allows you the opportunity to go home each week with a start for each section already written. Each week includes a special speaker who provides practical advice learned from years of experience. Classes are very interactive, providing excellent input from your fellow entrepreneurs and a supportive network for years to come. Not only will you write the majority of your business plan in class, you will also learn best practices and money-saving tips from your fellow entrepreneurs. As you develop your business plan, you will also prepare a presentation to pitch to lenders, investors and/or potential clients.
Develop your ideas. Write your plan. Estimate your numbers. Present your company to the world.
